For those heading toward Portsmouth or Southampton from Barnham, passengers should travel to Bognor Regis and find an alternative route via Havant, where train services are operating. Travellers should factor in potential delays to their journeys.

Trains resume service
Rail services can now operate once more between Chichester and Barnham, with efforts underway to restore normal timetables. Certain services may still be cancelled or bypass some scheduled stops, so passengers should verify their journeys before setting off.
A representative from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service stated that units were dispatched at 5.07pm on Sunday, March 22, following reports of a person on the railway lines close to Chichester station.
The Joint Fire Control centre despatched two fire appliances and a heavy rescue vehicle to the location.
On arrival, firefighters established a safety perimeter around the area. Personnel from the South East Coast Ambulance Service were also present.
Fire crews departed the scene at 5.49pm.

Authorities have confirmed that an individual was transported to hospital as a result of the occurrence.
