A proposal for five Gypsy/Traveller pitches has received the go-ahead.
The scheme relates to land adjacent to The Spinney on Lagness Road in Runcton. Chichester District Council’s planning committee gave the green light at a meeting held on Wednesday (March 11).
Alongside the pitches, the development will feature a shared communal area. Entry will be through Mill Lane.
An earlier bid for this location was rejected by the council in 2024, though a planning inspector overturned that decision on appeal. This current application was submitted separately, despite construction having already commenced.
An access route, which has been constructed onto Lagness Road, is covered by an enforcement notice issued in December, with an appeal currently in progress.
Committee members heard that North Mundham Parish Council had withdrawn its objection.
The proposal secured unanimous approval.
