A Chichester-based fine jewellery business is celebrating three decades of trading.
Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery was established by goldsmith Tim Roe in 1995 and has expanded from a modest independent workshop to employing 16 specialists.
According to Mr Roe, he initially had no elaborate strategy. His sole ambition was to work independently while concentrating on crafting new pieces. He explained that his enduring interest in the history of jewellery has consistently shaped his creative approach.
The store launched two years later in 1997, concentrating on gold items, diamond rings and custom-made creations.
The company has expanded steadily by merging age-old artisan methods with contemporary tools. As pioneers in digital design, the firm now incorporates three-dimensional printing techniques and nurtures a talented internal workshop staff.
Mr Roe emphasised the critical nature of flexibility in the industry. He noted that computer-aided design enabled precise customisation, allowing clients to preview pieces prior to production. He observed that combining sophisticated equipment with expert craftspeople within a single workshop environment allows them to produce genuinely unique items.
The organisation comprises experienced jewellers, emerging talent, creative designers and gemstone specialists, collectively managing approximately 400 custom orders, restorations and redesigns monthly.
To commemorate the milestone, the business is organising a week-long festivities programme commencing on April 12.
