One injured on tracks at Chichester Station, taken to hospital

A casualty was reported on the railway lines, resulting in an individual being transported to hospital with injuries.

Yesterday, March 22, all tracks were closed between Chichester and Barnham Station because of this occurrence.

Train services linking Bognor with Barnham and Brighton with Southampton Central were halted while responders dealt with the situation.

Officers from British Transport Police attended Chichester Station after being alerted at approximately 5pm about someone on the tracks.

The individual was conveyed to hospital with injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening.

Rail services recommenced at approximately 7.30pm.

A representative for British Transport Police confirmed that officers attended Chichester railway station at 5.02pm yesterday, March 22, after receiving reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics were also present at the scene and the person was taken to hospital with injuries that remain under assessment but are not believed to be life-threatening.

The matter is not classified as suspicious.
