A man who assaulted multiple police officers and subjected two of them to racial abuse inside a custody suite has been jailed.
Adam Green, 38, of North Road, Brighton, appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on March 20, where he changed a series of previous not guilty pleas to guilty.
The court heard that on October 17, 2025, at the custody centre in Crowhurst Road, Brighton, Green assaulted a number of officers while they were carrying out their duties.
He admitted assaulting Sgt Laker, Sgt Parsons and Sgt Raz, as well as PCs Fenu and Monroe, in separate incidents. All of the offences were classed as assaults on emergency workers.

Green also pleaded guilty to racially aggravated harassment against PC Biswas and PC Fenu, using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
Further charges of using threatening or abusive behaviour were admitted, while two public order offences were withdrawn.

Magistrates sentenced Green to a total of 24 weeks in prison. The court imposed 12 weeks for one offence to run consecutively with another case, with the remaining sentences running concurrently.
The bench said the offences were “so serious” that only an immediate custodial sentence was justified.
Green was not in custody prior to the hearing but was remanded to prison following sentencing.
