Two teenagers arrested on suspicion of kidnap after reports of a ‘threat to kill’

Four men, including two teenagers, have been arrested on suspicion of kidnap.

Police were called to an address in Hawks Town Crescent on Saturday, March 28 at around 9.25pm. This followed a report of “threats to kill” being made, police said.

One 16-year-old boy suffered minor facial injuries.

A 16-year-old boy and two men aged 18 and 21 were arrested on suspicion of kidnap (common law).

Another 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of kidnap (common law) and possession of a class B drug.

They have all been bailed, pending further enquiries.

Sussex Police said they are continuing to investigate.

They added that there would be an increased police presence in the area, and in Eastbourne, while enquiries are underway.

Detective Inspector Daniel Dugan said: “We are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry in connection with the incident.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area as well as in the vicinity of Bailee Avenue, Eastbourne whilst the investigation continues.

“I’d like to reassure the public that there is no wider risk to the community.”
