Police are trying to identify a person after a commercial building was damaged.

Officers responded after reports that shortly after 1.50am on Friday (March 27), an individual was seen attempting to enter Valhalla Hair on Queens Road in Hastings.

According to Sussex Police, the perpetrator smashed the glass front door but failed to gain access to the business.

The individual was wearing dark blue trousers, a black padded jacket with a fur-trimmed hood, and a black cap.

Images from CCTV cameras have been shared as part of the investigation.

A police spokesperson urged anyone who saw anything suspicious during the incident or who has any information that could assist the inquiry to contact officers via their website or by calling 101, mentioning reference 66 of 27/03.
