A retail outlet has resumed trading after undergoing extensive renovations.

The Co-operative branch on Whiteman’s Green in Cuckfield welcomed customers again on Tuesday (March 31) following a four-week transformation of the premises.

The outlet maintains 13 positions for local workers and operates from 7am until 10pm daily.

Building work has enlarged the sales floor and introduced a Costa Coffee Express. New refrigeration has been fitted which reduces energy consumption while expanding the selection of fresh and chilled products.

Tom Harper, area manager for the Co-operative, expressed delight at investing in Cuckfield and pride in contributing to local community life. He explained that efforts focus on making the outlet a neighbourhood hub, with emphasis on quality goods, value for money and variety accessible to all customers. This accompanies additional offerings including banking facilities, Costa Coffee, a bakery and rapid online grocery delivery.

Darren Sorrell, the manager, noted that the premises have been completely revamped with an improved appearance and wider product range. He emphasised the team’s commitment to serving and supporting the community conveniently, with everyone eager to welcome residents back.

The outlet provides grocery deliveries via Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat, while soft plastic recycling facilities are also available on site.
