Transport police have explained why “removed” a passenger from a train this morning.
British Transport Police (BTP) were called into action this morning (April 1) in response to an incident on a train in West Sussex.
Southern Rail posted about the incident on their X page.
They wrote: “Passengers are causing a disturbance on a train between Shoreham-by-Sea and Worthing.”
Rail services going westward were temporarily blocked as a result.
Southern then tweeted that “police are en-route to remove the passengers who are causing a disturbance from the train.”
Shortly after, Southern wrote: “The police are on site to remove the passengers, who are causing a disturbance, from the train.
“The westbound line between Shoreham-by-Sea and Worthing will remain blocked until this is complete.”
Minutes later, they added: “The police have removed the passengers and trains are able to move again between Shoreham-by-Sea and Worthing.”
Rail services were swiftly returned to normal after the brief disturbance.
The incident was handled by the BTP, who are responsible for policing trains and railway stations.
