Hastings officers stated that their Neighbourhood Policing Team is devoted to partnering with local residents to preserve road safety.

Deploying speed measurement tools in a locality forms part of their persistent campaign to deter excess velocity and reinforce to drivers that road safety receives serious attention.

Their visible presence on Springfield Road and Harrow Lane was intended to prompt vehicle operators to consider their pace, and despite being unable to cover every location simultaneously, officers can appear anywhere.

Authorities also highlighted the imminent school closures for the Easter period, urging drivers to remain vigilant regarding their velocity during this timeframe.

They recommended that residents enrol or establish a Community Speed Watch scheme if they wish to address local speeding concerns.

The force confirmed that officers receive no financial gain from issuing fixed penalty notices.
