A seasonal retail outlet that ran for thirty years in Lewes is attempting to return.

Cards for Good Causes ran the annual operation in the town for three decades but was forced to remain closed in 2025 after failing to locate an appropriate venue.

The group is now appealing for help in finding a short-term space so it can reopen for the 2026 festive period.

Peter Richards, the regional manager for Cards for Good Causes, explained that these temporary stores bring vitality to town centres throughout December. He said they not only create vital funds for charitable organisations but also craft a welcoming environment that encourages people to visit the area and explore other nearby businesses.

The chain consists of over 120 temporary outlets stocking a wide range of Christmas cards and gift items, with all earnings passed directly to various charities.

Ideal premises could encompass empty retail units, parish rooms, public libraries, exhibition spaces, or spare sections of existing trading spaces.

Host venues benefit from increased footfall, a seasonal atmosphere, and a share of the takings.

The team is particularly keen to partner with locations that share Lewes’s focus on local community involvement.
