Dog stolen in Brighton by man pretending to be from animal charity

Police have deleted an image and social media post they initially published, and authorities are seeking additional details from the department. This image has been removed.

Officers reported that an individual claiming to be affiliated with an animal welfare organization took a dog.

Investigators are attempting to locate a woman in connection with this theft case.

The incident occurred after reports were filed indicating that the suspect claimed employment with the RSPCA prior to removing a mixed-breed pet dog called Loki—a chihuahua and yorkie mix—in the Brighton area.

Authorities have also taken into custody a man in his mid-fifties on allegations of theft and obstruction related to this matter.
