Full police statement after ambulance collides with scaffolding

Police have issued a statement after a city centre road was shut.

This morning, April 15, North Road and Jubilee Street were closed following an incident.

Multiple police cars and fire engines were in attendance.

A cordon was also put in place outside Helm Gallery, with construction workers seen clearing scaffolding poles.

Sussex Police have now confirmed they were called out after an ambulance collided with the scaffolding.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “Emergency services have responded to a report of an ambulance in collision with scaffolding in North Road, Brighton, at 9.53am.

“No one was injured.

“The road was closed while the scene was made safe.
