A Brazilian dance festival is set to bring music and movement to the seafront in 2026.
Forró À Beira Mar will take place in Brighton from July 16 to 19, offering four days of workshops, live music and social dancing inspired by forró – a traditional partner dance from northeast Brazil known for its infectious rhythms and inclusive spirit.
The festival is organised by Forró By The Sea, a growing dance community in Brighton created by health and wellness practitioner Jules Francis and her Brazilian partner, Adenilson Papini.
Jules Francis said: “We wanted to create something that brings people together in a really genuine way.
“Forró has this incredible ability to connect people instantly, whether you’ve danced before or not.
“It’s about joy, music and sharing a special moment with someone.”
