Police have issued a statement after three men were arrested during an incident at a Co-op.

Officers attended the scene at the shop in Manor Parade, Worthing, today, April 16, at around 7.10am.

It was reported that a 21-year-old man had suffered a cut to his face in the vicinity.

Three men in their 20s were seen running away and were arrested nearby on suspicion of assault causing GBH, possession of a bladed article, possession of drugs and theft from a shop.

The victim, from Crawley, has been taken to hospital for treatment.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting serial 215 of 16/04.
