Lisa Appleton said Barby had earned this recognition through years of dedicated work. She added that Barby was an extraordinary woman who had given her life, heart and everything to all animals. Appleton noted she felt privileged to have met Barby on several occasions and seen all her wonderful animals at her sanctuary, saying Barby served as the protector of every creature on the planet.

Greta Gaskell said it was wonderful and that no one was more deserving. She continued that Barby’s contributions to animal welfare were outstanding.

Margaret Reeve wrote warmest congratulations on this wonderful, well-deserved invitation, noting the next step should be a Dame title.

Those who had relied on Barby’s services over time also voiced their approval.

Sally Edwards posted that it was excellent news. She added that it was well earned for a remarkable woman and everything she had accomplished, noting that the helpers were wonderful as well, and thanking all of them because she was able to adopt her lovely cat from there.

Holly Mapson observed that Barby had taken in one of her cats, which was a stray, with such compassion, without any judgment or making her feel ashamed, adding that it was well deserved.
