A bakery brand will establish a fresh branch in a coastal town following a significant financial commitment.
Muffin Break has secured retail space in Worthing’s main shopping area and is scheduled to launch on May 14.
The venture represents a £300,000 investment and is anticipated to generate 15 employment opportunities.
According to the company, the new café will neighbour the H&M store, and local representative Ödül Bozkurt has verified it will occupy the premises previously held by fashion outlet Peony at 29 Montague Street.
An application for a licence at the location had been filed by Morrisons the previous month, though this was later abandoned.
A spokesperson for the franchise announced the upcoming launch, describing it as an exciting addition to their UK portfolio and expressing enthusiasm about bringing fresh pastries, welcoming service, and quality beverages to the town. The representative added they looked forward to becoming a popular destination for residents seeking a pleasant break during their day.
The establishment will serve a morning and midday menu alongside various baked items and warm beverages.
Councillor Bozkurt remarked that the arrival demonstrated Worthing’s ongoing attractiveness to businesses.
She noted that the town maintains a low rate of empty commercial properties, spaces typically do not remain vacant for extended periods, and the area consistently draws investment. Despite the closure of several department stores, Worthing possesses greater retail provision than the national average and significantly higher than average commercial activity in the hospitality and leisure sectors.
Muffin Break had earlier inaugurated a 1,500 square foot café at County Mall Shopping Centre in Crawley during the previous year as part of its broader British expansion strategy.
