Bosham in Sussex named among UK’s prettiest villages for a spring break
Telegraph expert Sarah Baxter has picked out her “favourite places for a charming seasonal escape, with thatched houses, historic tearooms and birdsong galore”.
On Bosham, she wrote: “Bosham sits scenically on the edge of Chichester Harbour, a fine spot to welcome in the new season.
“The village, with its attractive cottages, coffee shops, historic quay and part-Saxon church, is a pleasing place for a wander.”
It is described as a “small attractive village” by Visit South East England, which explains that the village has “played an important part in the history of the country over the centuries”.
It is also renowned for being one of the most photogenic locations in Sussex and on the South Coast of England, with a “perfect blend of history, scenic views and a relaxed atmosphere”, The Great Sussex Way says.
It is not the first time the village has received praise, having been labelled one of the best in the UK before.
Last year, Bosham was highlighted by experts at Independent Cottages as being one of England’s best ‘chocolate box’ villages.
The phrase refers to images of the beautiful cottages that used to front the iconic Cadbury’s boxes.
