The rail line connecting Horsham with Three Bridges has been closed in its entirety after a collision between a train and a person.
Emergency crews have arrived at the location.
Southern Rail has reported that a train hit a person on the line between Three Bridges and Horsham. All lines have been sealed off to allow emergency workers to operate safely in the area.
Trains running between these points will be scrapped as a result.
The disruption is expected to persist until 18:00.
Emergency services are dealing with an incident between Three Bridges and Horsham. Services linking these stations will face delays and could be suspended. More information will follow shortly.
Travel advice from Southern Rail:
Train services will be unavailable between Three Bridges and Horsham. Passengers already travelling must use alternative routes to reach their destinations. This may extend journey times by as many as 60 minutes.
Those who have not yet begun their journey should delay travelling until later in the day.
Thameslink services that typically run between Horsham and London will instead serve either Three Bridges or Gatwick Airport and London.
Southern services that normally depart from London Bridge bound for Bognor Regis via Horsham will be diverted via Hove in both directions. These trains will no longer call at stations between Barnham and Three Bridges.

Christ’s Hospital

Arundel
A large police presence is evident at Littlehaven level crossing, near Horsham railway station.
Emergency services are managing an incident between Horsham and Three Bridges, according to Southern Rail.
Power to the railway in this section has been switched off to give response teams safe access to the tracks. While this remains in place, no rail services will run between these stations.
The severity of the incident has not been established. The Argus has contacted British Transport Police for comment.
Southern Rail says the northward line from Three Bridges towards London will soon restart operations, though the southward line towards Horsham stays blocked.
The London-bound line has reopened and train services along this route will begin shortly. The line towards Horsham remains blocked and those travelling in this direction must continue using alternative arrangements.

Some trains can now run from Horsham towards Three Bridges. The reverse direction remains shut, with no service expected from Three Bridges towards Horsham.
