Residents are being asked to help shape community improvements by voting for their favourite neighbourhood projects.
Brighton and Hove City Council is inviting the public to select their top five proposals for the Better Brighton and Hove Fund, which allocates developer contributions to enhance council-owned spaces and community facilities across the city.
Jacob Taylor, deputy leader of the council and cabinet member for finance and city regeneration, said: “We were amazed and delighted to receive such a fantastic response to our consultation, and I’d like to thank everyone who submitted an idea – your creativity and commitment to improving life in your wards has been inspiring.
“Now the shortlist has been revealed, it’s back to you to let us know which are your favourites.”
A total of 930 ideas were submitted last year through the council’s Your Voice platform, following a citywide invitation for residents to suggest ways of improving their areas using £750,000 of funding.
The submissions covered a broad range of priorities, including new play areas, community allotments, street art, accessibility improvements, green spaces and public safety measures.
After review by ward councillors and council officers, all proposals meeting the fund’s criteria have been shortlisted.
Residents now have until May 5 to select up to five choices for their ward via the Your Voice platform.

Mr Taylor said: “Such a strong response shows how much people care about shaping their local area.
“Involving residents in decision-making is a huge priority for us and these ideas will help create vibrant, inclusive spaces that benefit everyone.”
The selections will help councillors identify the most popular and valued projects, ensuring that final decisions reflect community priorities and represent good value for money.
Each ward will be considered individually, and the results will be shared as decisions are finalised.
Voting is available at yourvoice.brighton-hove.gov.uk.
The successful projects will receive funding and are expected to be delivered later in the year.
Most wards offer a diverse range of proposals, each requiring different levels of investment.
The Better Brighton and Hove Fund aims to give residents a direct say in how developer contributions are used to improve their communities.
