A man needed surgery on his arm after being pushed over at a nature reserve.

The man, 66, had been walking on a trail near the animal park in Tilgate Forest at about 6.20pm on Tuesday, April 21.

He reported being narrowly missed by a man on an E-bike and called out to him.

The man, who was with his daughter, then approached the 66-year-old, verbally abusing him and pushing him, causing the victim to fall near the concrete benches.

Police are seeking the man, who is described as being in his mid 40s, about 5’ 8” with a beard and wearing glasses.

Witnesses to the reported assault or those who have dashcam from this area at around this time are asked to contact police on 101, quoting serial 1154 of 21/04.
