A school is celebrating a glowing Ofsted report and a major expansion.
Chyngton School in Seaford has been praised for its inclusive approach and plans to open a new nursery.
The Ofsted report described Chyngton’s vision as “highly inclusive” and noted that staff “systematically put pupils’ needs first,” supporting all children to overcome barriers to learning and achieve well.
Inspectors highlighted the school’s strong safeguarding culture and the consistently high quality of education provided for pupils of all backgrounds and abilities.
Amy Clarke, headteacher at Chyngton School, said: “We are incredibly proud of this Ofsted report, which truly reflects the dedication, expertise and care shown by our staff every day, as well as the enthusiasm and achievements of our pupils.
The opening of our new Nursery is an exciting step forward in delivering our vision of a seamless, exceptional learning experience from the age of 2 right through to 18. Last year our Year 6 pupils celebrated excellent SATs results, while one of our former students, Amelie Procter, was preparing to begin her Law degree at Oxford University. Our staff can feel immensely proud of the lasting impact they have on the young people of Seaford.”

Ofsted recognised that the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), are identified quickly and supported through effective partnerships with external agencies.
The report also praised the school’s curriculum and teaching, along with carefully structured additional support that ensures pupils achieve well by the end of Key Stage 2.
Inspectors commended the school’s approach to personal development, describing an ambitious programme that builds confidence, resilience and a strong understanding of healthy relationships.
Chyngton School has also announced it will open a nursery for children aged two to four in April 2026, expanding its early years provision as part of the Seaford Learning Trust’s all-through 2–18 education pathway.
The school said the nursery will build on Chyngton’s strengths in early years education, inclusion and pastoral care, offering high-quality early years places to families in the community.
