A three-storey development featuring 66 bedrooms for care has been submitted.
The application concerns land situated to the south of Longacres Way in Chichester and was submitted by LNT Care Developments working alongside Hanbury Properties (Chichester) Ltd. The scheme could create approximately 60 job opportunities.
If the scheme gains planning consent, the blueprint includes 30 car parking spaces, including 2 designed for wheelchair users, 6 with electric vehicle charging points, and storage for 6 cycles.
The supporting documents stated that converting this site into a purpose-built care home would improve the local area by bringing forward an appropriate development that responds to need, while delivering a scheme that fits in with the prevailing character through its scale and design. The project would deliver economic benefits by creating additional employment and commercial activity during the construction period and throughout the running of the facility. The layout, siting and design would provide social benefits for future residents, encouraging engagement with the local community, supporting social cohesion and creating a sense of place and identity.
The application can be viewed at publicaccess.chichester.gov.uk using reference 26/00728/FUL.
