Young talent will take centre stage in a national competition.

The next heat of the Young Market Trader of the Year 2026 will take place in Horsham town centre on Sunday, June 28, giving 16 to 30-year-olds the chance to showcase their business ideas.

Barbara Childs, Horsham District Council’s director of place, said: “I am delighted that we are hosting the local heat of the National Young Traders Market competition again this year.

“If you are a young entrepreneur testing market trading for the first time or already have experience, this is a great opportunity to grow and publicise your business.”

The event, held on West Street, is organised by Coden Events in association with the National Market Traders Federation.

The winner of the Horsham heat will progress to the London and Southeast regional final, with the aim of reaching the national final and clinching the title of Young Trader of the Year.

More information and details on how to enter are available on the Coden Events website at codenevents.co.uk.

Entry costs £10 and includes a gazebo and table.

Participants must be under 31 on August 26, 2026.

The competition forms part of Horsham District Council’s wider efforts to support and promote market trading across the district.
