Thousands gathered for a weekend of farming, family fun and countryside entertainment last week.

Spring Live! 2026, held at the South of England Showground on April 18-19, was hailed as a “huge success” by organisers at the South of England Agricultural Society.

The event offered a full programme of activities for all ages, with highlights including the RPM Biketrials Display, hands-on workshops and popular animal encounters.

Corrie Ince, show director at the South of England Agricultural Society, said: “We are delighted to report that Spring Live! 2026 was a huge success.

“Once again, families flocked to the showground to enjoy a true country show, packed with activities and entertainment for everyone, regardless of their age.

“It was wonderful to see so many children meeting the animals, having a go at learning new skills and enjoying the many displays on offer.”

Visitors had the chance to meet Dexter cattle, Hampshire Down sheep and Kune Kune pigs, while the Pygmy Goat Show and South of England Alpaca Show delighted children and adults alike.

The weekend featured a variety of interactive activities, including archery, axe-throwing, bushcraft, circus skills and a chocolate workshop.

Children also enjoyed Mini Monster Mania Trucks, donkey rides, the funfair and the lively Sheep Show.

Displays of wood carving, kite flying and lawnmower racing added to the family atmosphere.

The horticultural area offered gardening advice, vintage machinery displays and floral competitions, while shoppers browsed stalls from local and independent traders.

With Spring Live! concluded, focus now turns to the South of England Show, taking place from Friday, June 5, to Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Tickets are available at Agricultural Society website, with adults priced at £25.20 and students/senior citizens at £23.40, including a 10 per cent advance discount until May 28.
