A recently updated venue is set to host Thursday evening shows throughout the fifth month of the year.

The Skep at Moulsecoomb Place will stage productions curated by Culture Shift and East Brighton Trust as part of their Circus of Sound programme. Every night will showcase skilled artists and inventive creations from the local community.

The inaugural event on May 7 includes live semi-acoustic sets, with Brighton-based collective Thrillhouse performing. Their latest offering Smile recently entered the Indie album chart at number 19 this month.

On May 14, Saaj Raja presents his original stage piece Bad Indian, a daring one-person show examining the intricacies of dual cultural heritage through wry comedy. Attendees can join a post-show conversation after the opening night.

A Writer’s Block Brighton session planned for May 21 will be guided by Woodzy, the celebrated Flo poet who has emerged as a well-known presence in Brighton’s creative scene.

The closing event on May 28 is a VICE VERSA night focused on exploring Care and Culture, with Culture Shift supporter Michael Attenborough CBE presiding over the occasion.
