Journey Through History: New Interactive Trail Opens in Town

Published on

A new interactive chronological adventure is pulling in locals and visitors eager to uncover community stories throughout the neighbourhood.

The Haywards Heath History Hunt offers a no-cost, family-friendly digital expedition that begins and finishes at the civic offices, providing an alternative angle on the town’s heritage.

The activity lasts approximately 40 minutes across a 1.6-mile route, highlighting notable sites and overlooked anecdotes through smartphone capabilities that resurrect historic scenes.

Duncan Pascoe, the town’s first citizen, commented that this initiative offers an outstanding chance for people of all ages to engage with Haywards Heath’s rich history in an enjoyable way. He added that the History Hunt brings the past to life while encouraging participants to get outdoors, explore, and value the lively area they inhabit.

Visitors join the hunt by installing the TurfHunt app via iOS or Android devices, then selecting Haywards Heath from the destination list.

Donations received at the civic offices will go to the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity, the mayor’s selected annual cause.

The activity runs concurrently with the Haywards Heath pop-up museum at the Town Hall, which welcomes guests on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am until 4pm.
