Popular city centre cafe shuts after three years

Bungaroosh Café Bistro has ended operations for good after three years of trading.

The venue, found at 7 Bath Place in Worthing’s town centre, has closed its doors permanently.

The proprietor shared a message on social media declaring that serving customers during the past three years had been an honour and a delight.

According to the owner, Bungaroosh meant much more than simply a commercial venture—it transformed into a home.

The owner encountered numerous excellent customers, established lasting friendships, and produced many wonderful baked treats.

Gratitude was expressed for ongoing support and for bringing happiness and laughter to daily life.

The establishment accommodated various occasions spanning birthdays, nuptials, and memorial gatherings, with the owner hoping each experience held comparable significance for patrons as it did for them.

Reports indicate the address will soon be home to a fresh venture named Welly’s Kitchen and Bar.

Bungaroosh served morning and midday meals, together with an assortment of cakes and Brazilian coffee.

The venue was honoured with a TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Award in 2021.

Social media users voiced disappointment at the closure while recognising the positive effect the café had on the Worthing community.

Paul Falcini expressed gratitude for the establishment and the wonderful venue provided, congratulating the owner on achievements and noting the business would be missed.

Gregor Hunter labelled the closure as deeply regrettable and said he had thoroughly enjoyed dining and drinking there.

He added that the standard of both service and cuisine stayed reliably excellent, wishing the owner success ahead.

Rachael Shaw termed Bungaroosh wonderful and praised the dedication invested in creating the business, while Julia Carrette noted that the food represented precisely what Worthing needs.
