A Brighton educational institution is marking its most successful A-level outcomes in ten years.

The school achieved 58 percent of all entries at the top grades, representing its finest performance since the new A-level specifications were implemented.

Twenty-three percent of entries secured the highest A* grade, while 81 percent of all results fell within the A*-B range.

Principal Niamh Green offered her congratulations to the year group, noting it was particularly gratifying to witness the strongest A*-A showing in a decade while expressing immense pride in every pupil and the variety of their accomplishments.

She observed that their achievement extends beyond excellent marks to encompass their broader educational journey, enabling them to follow their interests.

Five pupils secured exclusively A* grades across their subjects, and 24 students obtained exclusively A* or A grades.

Four pupils have confirmed positions at either Oxford or Cambridge to study subjects including classics, English with history and politics, psychological and behavioural sciences, and modern and medieval languages.

One additional pupil has been awarded a distinguished scholarship to study in America.

A notable strength in science, technology, engineering and mathematics resulted in 14 students gaining admission to medicine or veterinary medicine programmes.

Other leavers will undertake studies in civil engineering, artificial intelligence, computer science and biotechnology, while one has obtained a helicopter pilot apprenticeship in Australia.

The school also marked achievements in the Extended Project Qualification, with 22 of 29 students obtaining A* or A grades.

Among the cohort’s notable accomplishments, one pupil secured three A* grades after independently swimming across the English Channel.

Another student paired three A* grades with two performance diplomas in piano and vocal studies.

A third pupil achieved four A* grades alongside an RAD Advanced 2 Ballet qualification with distinction.

The year group also featured two pairs of twins, who together attained six A*s, eight As and one B, together with two As in their EPQ projects.

Ms Green stated that pupils had built abilities and self-assurance during their time at the school that would stand them in excellent stead for what comes next, wishing them all tremendous success going forward.
