Based in the heart of this wonderful city, we champion outstanding local performers while also travelling nationally and internationally to bring exceptional work from leading artists to Brighton.
Audiences can look forward to outstanding performances from Brighton and Sussex-based talent. For families, Slot Machine Theatre from Lewes presents a production where audience members’ toys become the cast during the October half-term break.
In dance, Lost Dog offers Juliet & Romeo, a celebrated duet exploring Shakespeare’s famous pair.
Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra has been gracing our venue for almost a century and returns with an exciting new lineup, while our spoken word evening Status Flo also makes a comeback, presented by Brighton’s own remarkable wordsmith AFLO the poet.
The theatre and performance programme features exceptional work, and we have partnered with companies and theatres throughout the UK to support continued touring.
Once Upon a Time in Sokoto by acclaimed poet and playwright Inua Ellams depicts the story of an improbable bond between an enslaved woman and her former owner.
LUNG Theatre presents their award-winning documentary production Woodhill: examining the deaths of three men at HMP Woodhill and their relatives’ quest for justice.
The Studio Theatre hosts a collection of newly commissioned plays alongside established hits, including Nation, a dark tale exploring national identity performed in-the-round.
Comedy performers, including Brighton-born Maisie Adam, appear at the Brighton Dome Comedy Festival, now partnered with Komedia for the first time, alongside discussions and interviews featuring prominent thinkers and personalities such as Marina Hyde, Caitlin Moran and Chris Packham.
Brighton Dome boasts some of the finest spaces for live music in the nation, and our music programme forms our central focus – spanning every genre, period and region – presenting opportunities to see legendary acts like Embrace and Saint Etienne, alongside powerful all-female ensemble Les Amazones D’Afrique and classical star Katherine Jenkins.
Later in the season, Christmas brings numerous delights including beloved traditions like Organoke, Brighton Festival Chorus and Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus, along with new additions such as Ceilidh the Musical, inviting audiences to experience a beloved Scottish festive custom.
We are proud to welcome back Circa, among the world’s most celebrated circus ensembles, with a spectacular new interpretation of Swan Lake in Duck Pond. As home to Create Music, we are excited to host the One Voice singing festival’s return for its second consecutive year, alongside three evenings of youth music in the Studio with Sounds From the City.
