Two Brighton roads to close for eight hours during Albion match against Tromsø IL

Published on

A pair of roads in Brighton will be shut to passing vehicles for a maximum of eight hours during a football fixture this week.

Brighton and Hove City Council has implemented a temporary traffic regulation for the match between Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and Tromsø IL at the American Express Community Stadium.

The limitations are scheduled to be in effect on August 27, with the planned closure period concluding on August 28.

Mill Road will be inaccessible to through traffic for up to eight hours and converted to one-way travel heading south-west. This applies across the entire road width from a location 20 metres south-west of Waterhall Road’s south-western kerbline, extending south-west for 1,480 metres.

Access to Mill House and Patcham Mill, both situated on Mill Road, will be preserved via the one-way arrangement.

Woollards Way will similarly be blocked to through traffic for up to eight hours and transformed into one-way movement heading south-west.

The restriction will encompass the southern section of the slip road connecting from Lewes Road to Woollards Way for approximately 20 metres. It will additionally cover the eastbound tunnel passing beneath Lewes Road into Woollards Way for roughly 15 metres.

Pedestrian movement will remain unaffected, the notice states. A replacement route will be clearly signposted.
