Two lorry crash cleared on A259 Main Road near Rye among multiple Sussex incidents

Several collisions are creating congestion throughout Sussex.

The AA has indicated that the A259 Main Road in the Rye area is impassable in both directions following a collision between two trucks.

The AA has also reported a crash between a van and a motorcycle on Turners Hill Road.

The route is partially obstructed in both directions between Standinghall Lane and Wallage Lane.

Both occurrences have now been resolved.

The AA is additionally reporting a collision on the A27 close to Lewes which has resulted in partial road closures in both directions.

Currently, there are backups between A27 and A277 Brighton Road.

Traffic in the area

A vehicle fire is also producing major delays on the A24 near Ashington.

The A27 near Lewes continues to experience slow-moving traffic following the earlier collision.
