Costumed performers descended upon Brighton Palace Pier for a promotional showcase ahead of this year’s Comic Con gathering.
Screentear Events coordinated the Sunday, August 16 gathering, drawing an array of beloved outfits back to the pier for photo opportunities, amusement and a sprinkling of intergalactic mayhem.
The occasion served as a teaser for Brighton & Hove Comic Con, scheduled for Brighton Dome on September 5 and 6.

Screentear director Stuart Phillips commented that Comic Cons depend as much on the remarkable cosplay community’s contributions as they do on the event itself. With the impressive roster of traders, exhibitors and celebrity guests now confirmed, this occasion is destined to become truly exceptional.
Fan-favourite figures such as stormtroopers and Captain Jack Sparrow interacted with visitors across all age groups, with stormtroopers trading their vehicles for fairground bumper cars and Captain Jack Sparrow sharing a coastal lunch with Chewbacca.
Event coordinator Angelika Phillips noted that witnessing the public’s response to their costumed performers at Brighton Palace Pier had been heartwarming. This exemplifies the playful spirit and togetherness they aim to deliver at Brighton Dome in September.
