Brighton man getting i360 tattoo to commemorate scaling landmark in 2025

A Brighton resident is set to commemorate his unique ascent of the i360 observation tower by having the landmark permanently inked onto his body.

Tyler Mighall, aged 28 and a lifelong Brighton native, secured the rare opportunity to reach the summit of the i360 last year.

The climb involved riding the pod to the top before scaling the exterior of the structure.

The experience was arranged following discussions with the i360 operation team.

Mighall considers himself among a select few individuals to have stood atop the iconic tower.

He described the climb as an extraordinary experience and admitted to feeling somewhat triumphant upon reaching the summit.

He stated he knows of no one else who has completed such a climb.

Beyond the i360 achievement, Mighall has pursued other adrenaline-fuelled activities throughout his life.

He completed a bungee jump during his youth.

Additionally, he harbours ambitions to develop what he describes as a British equivalent to the Jackass franchise, which he has titled Migass.

He intends to share this content on YouTube with aspirations of eventually expanding it into a full-length feature film.

The planned i360 tattoo, currently incomplete, will feature a depiction of Mighall positioned at the pinnacle of the structure, flanked by a sizeable seagull.

He also intends to incorporate both of Brighton’s piers into the design, referring to the West Pier as a remarkable architectural achievement worthy of inclusion.

The upcoming i360 piece is not Mighall’s sole Brighton-inspired body art.

During a difficult period last year, he obtained a back tattoo bearing the inscription The Godfather of Brighton.

He now regards this particular piece as somewhat ill-considered.

Rather than pursuing a cover-up tattoo, he has chosen to fully commit to the Brighton theme and expand upon the existing back piece.

In April, Mighall commenced his Brighton body art project by receiving a tattoo of a Welcome to Brighton and Hove sign while in Turkey.

The i360 design is scheduled for completion in September.

Mighall has expressed appreciation for the distinctive appearance of the i360 and noted the rarity of having stood on its summit as a primary reason for his enthusiasm.

He confirmed he had not previously ridden the attraction before his climb.

He also shared his hope to eventually experience the ride with his son.
