A public exhibition offering residents insight into a significant urban renewal initiative will be held in the town centre later this month.

The showcase, scheduled for October 3, will run from 10am until 4pm at Priory Meadow Shopping Centre.

The gathering forms part of ongoing efforts to inform the community about the £24.3 million investment programme transforming the area.

Visitors will have the opportunity to engage directly with those overseeing various schemes, examine completed work and obtain information regarding initiatives still underway.

The exhibition aims to provide a comprehensive overview of developments funded through the national Town Deal initiative.

Troika Projects is among the organisations presenting at the event.

The company will outline advances on the West Hill undertaking, which encompasses the restoration of Hastings Castle to public access alongside proposals for a new visitor facility featuring dining options and space for functions.

East Sussex County Council representatives will address the public realm and environmental improvements planned for the town centre, while INSTAR will discuss the artistic installations being introduced throughout the commercial district.

Additionally, the East Sussex College Group will demonstrate progress at its specialist automotive technology hub located at the Ore Valley campus.

Cllr Julia Hilton, Deputy Leader of Hastings Borough Council with responsibility for Spatial Planning and Economic Development, commented that the investment initiative was delivering lasting benefits to the area.

She noted that significant heritage buildings were being brought back into use, public areas enhanced and new prospects created for local people and enterprises.

With numerous schemes already finished and others advancing through important phases, progress was becoming evident throughout the town.

The open day would allow residents to witness developments personally and learn about upcoming work.

Graham Peters, Chair of the Hastings Town Deal Board, stated that several completed schemes were already benefiting the local community, with major projects continuing to move forward.

He indicated the exhibition provided an ideal occasion for inhabitants, traders and visitors to interact with delivery teams, understand the advances being made and raise any queries.

The board looked forward to welcoming members of the public and demonstrating how the programme continued to support Hastings.
