Young rider seriously injured in e-bike crash

An adolescent operating an e-bike collided with a van and suffered harm.

Sussex Police responded to the incident involving the electric bicycle and the van at approximately 5:30pm on Friday, May 1, along Dominion Road near its intersection with Congreve Road.

According to authorities, the electric bicycle operator, a 17-year-old boy from the area, received severe injuries and was transported to a medical facility for care.

The van’s driver escaped injury.

Emergency personnel established a perimeter and shut down the roadway while responding to the situation.
