Dame Jacqueline Wilson attends charity fundraising event

Bestselling novelist Dame Jacqueline Wilson has helped raise funds for a children’s cancer charity.

The author, who is patron of Children With Cancer Fund, attended a fundraising event at Foundry in Eastbourne on April 21, with CEO and founder of Global Wealthmap Mike Lawrence to support the charity.

Dame Jacqueline Wilson said: “I’m delighted to be Patron of the Children With Cancer Fund. I’ve seen for myself what brilliant imaginative & helpful work they do with children with cancer and their families and how comforting it can be.”

She signed books for guests, who heard from charity founder Chris Downton.

The Children With Cancer Fund supports more than 150 families across East Sussex, Brighton and Hove by offering emotional support, practical help, respite breaks, social events and wish granting.

Mr Lawrence said: “Global Wealthmap has supported Children With Cancer Fund for the past three years and we are pleased to have raised vital funds for the charity.

“This is a cause that is very personal to me, so I am delighted that the money raised will support the charity and their hugely important work supporting diagnosed children and their families during a really difficult time in all their lives.
