People living in Sussex are being asked to join a horticultural contest that showcases gardening abilities.

The initiative, arranged by the Raven Housing Trust and called Raven in Bloom, is available to the organisation’s customers throughout the area and seeks to enhance communities by motivating individuals to develop their outside areas.

Lauren McCready-Carter, estates manager at Raven Housing Trust, stated that gardening delivers numerous advantages to both people and neighbourhoods, and that vibrant and vivid gardens can make an area far more pleasant to inhabit.

She added that the trust takes pride in recognising customers’ skill and commitment in horticulture.

The contest runs until August 31, with several distinct sections. These encompass finest personal garden, finest shared garden, finest container garden, and finest young gardener categories, with the latter open to those aged 12 and under.

Awards consist of gardening vouchers valued at £75 for the winner, £50 for second place, and £25 for third place in each division.

Those eligible can take part by emailing up to three photographs of their garden to raveninbloom@ravenht.org.uk or submitting them through conventional post.
