Conservative MP Nusrat Ghani is pressing for decisive intervention regarding the future of an important local facility.

The representative for Sussex Weald constituency is calling on the newly formed administration to reinstate the Crowborough military training centre for its originally intended purpose, expressing worry that the location is no longer fulfilling its role as a base for cadet organisations and emergency services.

The parliamentarian has approached the newly appointed Secretary of State with a request for a discussion about the Crowborough training establishment.

She dispatched correspondence to Wes Streeting, who recently assumed the role of Secretary of State, and chose to publish her letter to maintain openness about her continuing campaign.

The politician expressed frustration that ministers have failed to engage with her communications regarding the matter and appear to have no strategy for bringing the training facility back to its designated function.

She noted that the decision by authorities to assume control of the camp and strip it of its status as a community asset has become the central issue of concern.

Local inhabitants and community organisations continue to contact her office regularly, maintaining that the removal of the facility was unwarranted and that their objections are being overlooked.

She characterised the circumstances as considerably inequitable and condemned the absence of any coherent proposal to revive the camp.
