Brighton seafront walk raises funds for suicide prevention

Published on

A walking fundraiser is being organized to collect money for suicide prevention initiatives.

Martin Searle Solicitors is hosting the gathering in Brighton on September 11 to benefit Grassroots Suicide Prevention.

This marks the third occasion the walk has been held, with the legal practice aiming to gather donations and boost understanding through the occasion.

Fiona Martin, who serves as director and head of employment law at Martin Searle Solicitors, stated that they would keep backing the essential work delivered by Grassroots Suicide Prevention.

Tragically, suicide rates are climbing, and yet conversations around this topic remain challenging.

Named Dawn of Hope, the initiative was created by office manager Amy O’Shea, who experienced personal loss due to suicide.

The gathering now functions as both a memorial for individuals lost to suicide and as assistance for those currently battling.

The course begins at the Peace Statue at 6am and proceeds along the coastline to Brighton Marina.

Participants may meet up with the group at Palace Pier prior to 6.15am.

Beverages and snacks will be offered without charge.

Grassroots representative Ben Baxter expressed that suicide is not destined to happen and can typically be averted.

Through the tremendous backing from Martin Searle Solicitors, the Dawn of Hope walk will enhance understanding and dismantle the shame surrounding suicide.
