A fresh wellness gathering is set to position the southern shoreline as a hub for those seeking relaxation when it launches next year.

The inaugural Brighton Sauna Festival will take over the seafront between May 29th and 31st, providing a unique combination of steam, serenity and coastal customs.

Organised by the British Sauna Society, the event will present more than 20 mobile saunas sourced from across the nation, transforming the beachfront into a temporary sauna village.

According to Fay MacDonald of the British Sauna Society, Brighton has long been connected with health and community, and the festival merges that heritage with the considerable recent expansion in sauna culture to create something groundbreaking, festive and quintessentially Brighton.

The programme will feature an assortment of sauna configurations, from converted horseboxes and delivery trucks to a large heated chamber fitting 25 bathers, a pink-coloured sauna and traditional tent-style units.

Every session will welcome as many as 180 attendees, with time blocks arranged according to different ambiances and intensity levels.

The sessions run from 8 in the morning until 10 at night, beginning with the calm and reflective RISE programme and finishing with the lively SUNSET experience.

The schedule includes respiratory exercises, mindfulness practice, fitness activities and professional-led sauna ceremonies conducted by practitioners from the UK and overseas.

The gathering will also feature live DJ sets curated by Rob Da Bank, the founder of Bestival, alongside moon-themed festivities on both Saturday and Sunday.

The final day of the event coincides with a rare Full Blue Moon.

Entry costs £37.50 per session and bookings can be made through the dedicated Lowlu sauna application.
