Footage captured from the top of the tallest vantage point in the city captured police arriving at the scene of a knife fight, which triggered a murder investigation.

A person aged 26 has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident at Moon’s Lodge on Regency Square in Brighton.

One man was pronounced dead where he fell while a second individual was rushed to hospital in a serious condition.

The major emergency operation could be seen from 531 feet up as blue light vehicles were filmed by the i360 observation tower camera.

A cordoned-off area remains in place outside the accommodation block on Regency Square, Brighton, as crime scene investigators gather physical evidence and officers question people living nearby.

Throughout the day, a forensics team was spotted going in and out of the premises, which residents described as a hostel or halfway house.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police confirmed that at around 2.10am on Sunday, 26 April, emergency workers attended reports of a disturbance at a property on Regency Square.

Two men were found with injuries from bladed weapons, with one man in his thirties taken to hospital in a critical state.

The second man, who was 37 years old, was tragically pronounced dead at the location shortly afterwards. His relatives have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.

Nearby, officers detained a 26-year-old man with no fixed address on suspicion of murder, unlawful wounding, and possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply.

He remains in custody.
