A person has been detained after scaling construction equipment in the vicinity of a major rail facility in the city.
Members of the public reported seeing the individual hanging from the temporary structure at Brighton Station by just one arm.
The incident prompted a significant emergency operation, with firefighters, officers, and ambulance crews all arriving at the scene.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police explained that around 5:30pm on Friday (April 24), emergency services responded after receiving calls about a person displaying erratic behaviour having climbed up scaffolding at Brighton Station.
Trafalgar Street was shut for some time. The individual was taken into custody and removed from the structure before being handed over to healthcare workers.
Crowds formed as the person climbed the scaffolding in what seemed to be connected to a mental health emergency.
