A major blaze prompted a substantial emergency response from multiple services.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service received the alert at 9.35pm regarding a residential fire on Church Road in Broadbridge Heath.

Six fire engines made their way to the scene, with an aerial ladder platform also deployed.

According to the fire service, upon arrival at the property, crews found a major fire. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus brought the blaze under control using three hose reels and one jet. The crews departed the location at 1.08am. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the cause is believed to be accidental. One crew returned to the site this morning for a follow-up inspection and found no additional fire activity.
