24-hour nailathon tribute to father who died from heart condition

Published on

A fundraising event lasting a full day and night has taken place to commemorate a beloved father.

Charlie Wilkinson, who lives in Eastbourne and is 26 years old, initiated the campaign to benefit the British Heart Foundation after her dad died unexpectedly over twelve months previously from a heart problem that had not been diagnosed.

She undertook the task between April 18 and 19, providing consecutive manicure sessions alongside a prize draw to increase contributions.

Ms Wilkinson expressed that she wanted to undertake a nail marathon to remember her father, who died more than a year ago from an undetected cardiac condition. She noted that his death profoundly altered her life, and she sought to pay tribute to him in a manner that felt both significant and personal.

All money collected will be forwarded to the BHF to support its research and awareness activities.

Contributions remain possible at justgiving.com/page/charlie-wilkinson-1769425030419.

Prize draw items worth more than £2,500 were provided for the occasion by independent businesses.

Ms Wilkinson stated that for her, the goal was to create change, contribute positively, and boost understanding so that other families do not experience comparable grief. She noted the tremendous backing she has already received and expressed heartfelt thanks, saying she found it difficult to articulate how grateful she felt and that people had shown tremendous support for her cause.
