Those living in the area report that vehicles and buses race along residential streets during peak times.
Mackie Avenue has become especially worrying.
Stephen Hudson highlighted that the need for intervention is clear from the frequency of motorists driving too fast and acting aggressively on Mackie Avenue during morning and evening rush periods, with speeding vehicles, including buses, not accounting for blind corners, closely parked cars and deteriorating road surfaces.
Many expressed concerns about the safety of young people on their routes to school.
Alistair McNair questioned why measures could not be introduced before a crash during the school run made such debates irrelevant.
Andy Pawson demanded that a 20mph limit be mandated across all school zones, with traffic wardens posted there during school hours.
