A Specsavers store is urging local people to contribute to their neighbourhood by taking part in a charitable initiative.

Staff at the Haywards Heath location are gathering food and basic necessities for the Bentswood Hub to celebrate Global Pay It Forward Day on April 28.

The hub offers assistance and provisions to vulnerable individuals through its community food store alongside various other tangible and wellbeing-focused programmes.

Jay Spiller and Rachna Patel, the retail directors at Specsavers Haywards Heath, explained that any can, packet or toiletry item can genuinely help someone locally.

They noted that the store is also organising an enjoyable charity raffle throughout April.

Tickets cost one pound per strip, and participants will not only be supporting a worthy cause but could also win a prize.

They described it as an easy and pleasant method to share some goodwill while potentially receiving something pleasant in return.
