A rescue operation has been launched to save an injured fox.

The animal, a vixen currently feeding her young, has sharp glass pieces stuck around her neck. She was spotted along Dean Court Road in Rottingdean.

Resident Lisa Barrow posted information on social media, explaining that the fox desperately needs help. She noted the animal has jagged glass caught around her neck and is caring for her kits, which makes this especially urgent.

Barrow stated that tonight is the last chance to safely catch her before the trap must be moved to another location tomorrow. The fox had already entered the trap once, but the mechanism failed to trigger. She is extremely close to being rescued, just requiring more time and the right assistance.
