Official bodies are preparing to take legal action over an unauthorised camping spot.

Campervans turned up at Goring Gap in Worthing on Friday, April 10th, and were still on the open grassland when pictures were taken two days later.

Sussex Police confirmed that officers attended the unlawful camp and is partnering with West Sussex County Council to handle the situation.

The council has served an eviction notice for the site.

According to a council spokesperson, the authority was alerted to the unlawful encampment at Goring Gap. A directive to leave the land has been delivered, and courtroom proceedings will begin shortly. The council intends to maintain supervision of the area alongside Sussex Police and Adur and Worthing District Council.

A police spokesperson said on Saturday that the force had been contacted about the unlawful camp at Goring Gap, Marine Drive, Goring on April 10th.

Officers visited the site and are liaising with West Sussex County Council to manage the situation.
