Rescue Teams Rush to Help Three People Trapped on Cliffside

Published on

Three people found themselves stuck partway down a cliff in Fairlight near Hastings during the late afternoon period.

Coastguard teams from Bexhill, Hastings, and Rye Bay rushed to help at around 5pm on March 28.

All three people were reached safely before night descended.

In remarks posted on the internet, HM Coastguard noted that as daylight disappeared, the rescue crews worked together smoothly to find, treat, and bring out all three casualties. The final individual was reached just as the last glimmer of light vanished.

All three were in good spirits despite feeling rather cold, and they thankfully accepted blankets, coats, and hot drinks while emergency workers carried out their checks.

A strong display of teamwork between the Coastguard Rescue Teams led to a safe ending to what could have been far worse, according to the statement.

Members of the public were also urged to keep track of the time and steer clear of cliff edges.

The statement added that because daytime remains short and temperatures drop quickly after sunset, people should watch the clock, organise their trip properly, and ensure they have enough daylight for the journey home. They should also stay well back from cliff edges.
